This article refers to the configuration of AXIS 2400/2400+ and AXIS 2401/2401+ to control the PTZ features of the Pelco DD5-C camera.
Oct 06, 2018 VideoXpert is not able to control PTZ cameras connected to NET5500 series encoder. The cameras appear in the OpsCenter as fixed cameras. Also, the camera connected to the encoder may appear as a PTZ camera but only the zoom function will work with no pan or tilt control. The NET5500 Series NET5516US 16-Channel H.264 Based Network Video Encoder from Pelco is a high performance, single-channel to multi-channel video encoder that integrates analog cameras and positioning systems into an IP video surveillance system. The NET5516US encoder delivers clear images while drastically reducing the network bandwidth and storage requirements for IP video surveillance applications.
Note: this instructions work for many other Pelco models.
The Pelco PTZ unit must support ‘D’ protocol.
Attach the cables required between the video encoder and the camera, then configure the video encoder settings.
